Interesting to see the great range of distance that folks are riding. Did the 'Tour de Furness' 50 miler at easy pace for charity last year with 8 others from local College. Raised £750 for British Heart Foundation. Good to do something to keep fit and raise some cash to help others!

There are some big mile eaters in these parts too by the looks of it. Most I've done in a day is 112 and I was younger and fitter then. I might top that after Easter, we've got a big recce ride coming up which is 126 miles, bit of a worry cos I've been mainly behind a keyboard since the New Year…

Been invited on the Highclere Invitational Ride - 126 miles (double points mmc points!), not sure I will make it. Riding a singlespeed around Bath does build up your leg strength but I think I might need a bit more than that + we're both going to ride the Cotswolds Classic a couple of days beforehand, which may, or may not be awfully wise… Oh, and I need to sort a bike.
Still it'll be good practice cos we are also going to recce the Gore Sportive routes soon too. Probably ask if anyone wants to join us when we do them.
