100 Extra places for tomorrow's Wilier New Forest sportive

If you're near Brockenhurst tomorrow you could be on the ride.....

Looking for a challenge for, erm, tomorrow? We've just had UK Cycling Events on the blower telling us that there's 100 extra places available on the Wilier New Forest Sportive tomorrow (Sunday 11 October). The event kicks off from Brockenhurst College. Registration begins at 8am and there's starts every five minutes from 8.30am to 10am to keep the load on the local roads to a minimum.

And what of the course? Well, there's 40, 70 and 100 mile options, you pay a bit less for the shorter ones. Here's what the organisers have to say about it:

"Wilier’s New Forest 100 Sportive is set within the beautiful New Forest National Park. The Course sweeps through quiet leafy country roads taking in some challenging hills such as ‘Blissford Hill’, which is a short but sharp 25% beast. The spectacular scenery of the New Forest National Park combined with wild animals grazing at the roadside and picturesque villages make this a truly special sportive."

Entry is £15, £19 or £22 depending on the length of your chosen ride. You get race timing, route marking, emergency support, free energy drinks and snacks and a web results service thrown in.
