We've picked our 20 best images of Autumn cycling, and the winner, picked by Sir Chris himself, wins a unique HOY bike...

Well we've stroked our chins, talked about the rule of thirds and done that thing where you make a frame with your fingers – is that still a thing? – and here's our shortlist of 20 images of Autumn that have made it to the final reckoning.

That final reckoning will be done by Sir Chris Hoy himself, and the final lucky winner will be the receipient of a unique HOY bike, built by Sir Chris himself (Dave handed him an allen key at one point, he'd like to point out). It's one of a series of three special Autumn HOY bikes based on the £1,000 Sa Calobra .003, but with custom paint job and decals and finishing kit chosen by Chris. It's signed by him too, so it's a pretty special thing. And there can only be one winner, who will be announced next Friday, 25 October.

Here are our shortlisted users, in no particular order:

darranmoore

Shugg McGraw
KiwiMike

brylonscamel
Kolob
callumlmcgrath

GarryW

tautau
samwstraw
stuartanderson
ConicalFern
Team Rux
andyreevo

Well done to everyone that made it this far, and good luck in the last push! It's Sir Chris doing the final judging, but don't let that stop you loudly opining on which you think should win. After all, what else is the comments section for?

I am the super user. This is my site.

Dear oh dear. I wish I'd entered now. Hate to think what the ones that didn't make the shortlist were like!

Great... they could've given a time they were going to finish the competition... missed the entry now! Not the best way to run competitions!

gosh, some of those were awful really, no I didn't go in for it myself, and I'm not saying mine would have been any better, but there were some very average shots in there imo

I reckon its got to be either the one with the Haybales or the Colnago.

Reckon I could've given that a good go.

Whilst I am disappointed at not making the short list some of the pictures here are shocking, over filtered rubbish.
Making everything orange or grey on instagram doesn't make you an artist, 5, 15 and 21. 8 is a blurred picture of nothing by nobody, no character at all. And I'll spit my coffee out if the abomination no. 18 wins; fake sunbeams, really.

Vote, 2, 6, 9, 19 anything 'real'. Or No. 1, I like the smiley chap in no. 1 with the orange bike.

They haven't given Chris much to work with in my opinion, but I would say that as I didn't get picked, ha. Good luck to the finalists!

Oh well, I didn't make the cut but good luck to the finalists.
Thank you for the likes the photo was given; my son only mastered riding a bike in April and now there's no stopping him !

Thanks V much, the Colnago shot is mine, 7:30am once misty morning coming down Kirkstone Pass, Cumbria. It took my breath away, just had to stop and capture the moment.

Haha... Good point, it is currently being built up with Campy Record, will post photo later this weekend and the SRAM migrating to the CX bike. A work in progress...

It's a nice shot but there does appear to be a bike in the way of the stuning view... 3

I'd go with #2 or #19 personally. There are some abominations in there for sure - suppose it's to be expected these days when absolutely everyone has a phone camera and Instagram.

The Sun is 93 million miles away, its light is parallel; the lens flare would be originating outside of the frame of the camera; and finally, it looks fake, dude.

Any pic that has been obviously filtered or manipulated should be excluded. If this is genuinely supposed to be a photography competition not just a lucky dip.
