Primal launch 2014 clothing range
A new high performance Helix jersey and affordable Black Label clothing shown at Eurobike
Primal showed their 2014 cycle clothing range at Eurobike, along with their new performance jersey in the shape of the Helix and the affordable Black Label range.
The company is looking to bolster its range of classic designs with a new push into performance clothing. The Helix is made from SLR ION, a lightweight fabric that claims to offer good breathability. The use of Z92 fabric on the sleeves has a dimple texture, for supposedly improved aerodynamics, while AE Elite Mesh side panels improves heat regulation. It costs £69.99. The jersey was nominated for an innovation award at Eurobike in 2014. We've previously reviewed the Helix jersey, which we found to be "sensibly priced performance jersey with a great fit and wicking properties."
Primal also showed a range of women’s cycling jerseys. They’re made from Speed Pro fabric with a hidden zipper and three rear pockets, and are available in a range of colours and styles.
As well as moving into the high-end market, Primal have introduced the Black Label range. This is a collection of cycle clothing with a lower price point but still packing loads of technical fabics and details, such as flatlock reflective piping throughout.
Readers with long memories may remember Primal Wear from the 90s. The US-based clothing label launched in 1992 and made an impact with a range of very bold designs, with examples including the Grateful Dead jerseys and Pink Floyd designs. You can see the full range at www.primaleurope.com
