Cervelo S2 Black Limited Edition 2

Cervelo S2 Black Limited Edition launched

Cervelo have announced the S2 Black Limited Edition launched, which is finished with a satin black finish with discrete Cervelo red decals.

Underneath the paint, the frame remains the same as the regular S2. Special edition bikes like this one can sometimes be an indicator that a new model is on the way.

Eliza Southwood cycling prints

We spotted this on The Guardian's website earlier in the week: a set of beautiful screen-prints inspired by competitive cycling through the ages, by Eliza Southwood.

They really are magnificent, and you can see some of the prints on show at Society Cafe in Bath and Look Mum No Hands! on Mare Street, London. Alternatively head over to her website:

Case Logic cycling bags

Case Logic is a well known manufacturer of bags, and they’ve just released a new range aimed at cycle couriers designed for transporting gadgets like cameras, laptops and tablets.

They have two bags at launch, the Messenger and the Berkeley Backpack. The smart looking Messenger bag is available in a range of bold colour and inside there’s pockets for arranging all the essentials you need when you get to the office.

There’s even a dedicated iPad pocket. We assume other brand tablets are compatible. A magnetic clasp system lets you easily open the bag on the move.

The Berkeley Backpack is available in Plus and Deluxe versions, and each has a compartment for a 15.6in laptop. The main compartment is divided with smaller pockets and pouches so the contents can be organised. The Deluxe model gets an extra front pocket for smaller items.

Both have removable chest straps and grab handles on the top and bottom.

Defeet’s new colourful socks

We spotted this photo of Defeet’s upcoming new sock range on Rich Land’s Instagram the other day.

Rich is a buyer at Wiggle and sometimes gets a first peek at new products that you can expect to see in the shops in the near future. We can’t wait to see these in the flesh. I’m saying it here: 2014 is the year of bright and bold socks.

Park Tool 50th anniversary AWS-50 hex wrench

If you’re a maintenance tool company, how do you celebrate your 50th birthday? By releasing a special edition three-way Allen wrench, of course. It has 4, 5 and 6mm Allen bits CNC machined in the US from Bondhus Goldguard plated steel, so it’s proper tough. It’ll probably last for the next 50 years.

Apparently, Park Tool were the first to introduce a three-way wrench. Didn’t know that. This tool will be produced in limited numbers and come in a presentation case. Available now from Madison for £24.99.

New howies bike-themed t-shirts

We have to have bike-related T-shirts in Tech Roundup every week. It has become a tradition... howies have their own print shop and they’ve used it to produce a new range of bike-themed t-shirts. The clothing company is really back into cycle clothing now, with jackets, jerseys and bib shorts.

These new tees are printed on 100% organic cotton, in men and women sizes, and there are loads of designs to choose from. They cost £25 from

iMessaging iBackpack

We’ve saved our wackiest product for last: the iBackpack.

It’s a regular backpack with the addition of a clear window in which you can place a tablet and, syncing it to your smartphone and using a special app, can relay messages to the world behind you. So, what messages would you choose to display if you were using it? Don't you go writing anything rude on there; we know what you're like.

Re: the iBackpack. Check the website & the marketing slides. Brilliant. I like the alone/together graph the best.

Good theft of images from the net for the old iBackpack photo gallery - a Rapha backpack shot there in the "Refresh rider" page!

The image for the 'refresh rider' looks incredibly like Joseph Gordon-Levitt too. Do they have no shame when it comes to ripping off images? Hilarious.

Are these Cervelo decals discrete, discreet or both? It's so much fun being a pedant that I'll head off to the Guardian site next.
