Video: the bubble wrap bike

Take your cut-up bits of cornflake packet in the spokes and shove 'em: this is where it's at

bubble wrap bike

Making your bike sound like a motorbike has been a staple for generations. Doing it old school requires nothing more than a cornflake box or ice cream tub, some scissors and a peg. And there's off-the-shelf solutions too: remember the Turbospoke?

Anyway, comedy magician Eric Buss has taken things to a whole new level with this invention, the bubble wrap bike. Okay it's an expensive and short-lived way to get your bike to go vroom vroom. But it looks and sounds ace. We want one.

Might get one for my road bike. Could do with it to protect my tyres from the Essex pot holes!

If this idiot wants to waste fossil fuel and make a noise, why doesn't he just get himself a Harley-Davidson?

With an internet full of perfectly good cat pictures why do we have to put up with this frackwit? At the design stage someone should have said "Even if it works, it won't be worth it".

Great idea, poor execution. Should have gone to Red Bull and get sponsored for a park rider to bust some moves with this. Or maybe the JackAss team.

You could throw the satnavs away, coz you could retrace your route, UCI might not allow it for racing though, is it a fairing???

Currently going slower than I'd like...

Oh, those potholes on Hesiers have been there for years. They fill them in (badly), the stuff comes out. Rinse, repeat. Turn left after that and go down the hill - you get cars dumped and set alight, idiots dumping a lorry of rubbish - every time we take new club members out, we have to warn them.

Anyway - back on topic - I'd like to see this idea extended - in a group, you could do some good paceline training by requiring every bubble to be popped Wink

Although I wouldn't like to do it in a headwind...
