The second Spin LDN urban bike show will be held Friday November 29 to Sunday December 1 2013 at The Yard, Shoreditch. And picking up on the secondary obsession of just about every urban cyclist, the Spin crew have teamed up with The London Coffee Festival to brew up Spin X LCF XMAS.
Described as “the ultimate Christmas shopping experience for the discerning rider and coffee aficionado”, Spin X LCF XMAS will be free to enter, but only a limited number of tickets will be available.
The show will showcase smaller independent makers and forward thinking companies, with a selection of handmade frames, emerging cycle fashion makers, off-the-peg bikes, accessories and cycle-wear alongside a selection of single origin coffees and blends, brewers, grinders and espresso machines.
SPIN X LCF Xmas has teamed up with Brewers & Union to serve its own craft beer from the event’s heated outdoor beer garden – a limited edition unfiltered lager on tap. Mulled wine, DJs, art, entertainment and street food will provide a lively backdrop to the event.
Full details should be available next week, meantime, we suggest you sign up for the Spin newsletter to be kept informed.
Our official grumpy Northerner, John has been riding bikes for over 30 years since discovering as an uncoordinated teen that a sport could be fun if it didn't require you to catch a ball or get in the way of a hulking prop forward.
Road touring was followed by mountain biking and a career racing in the mud that was as brief as it was unsuccessful.
Somewhere along the line came the discovery that he could string a few words together, followed by the even more remarkable discovery that people were mug enough to pay for this rather than expecting him to do an honest day's work. He's pretty certain he's worked for even more bike publications than Mat Brett.
The inevitable 30-something MAMIL transition saw him shift to skinny tyres and these days he lives in Cambridge where the lack of hills is more than made up for by the headwinds.
