Video: Original Bike Tricks from Tim Knoll…(don't try this at home kids)

BMX stunt video gets 2 million views in two days

Tim Knoll - original tricks.png

As regular users of this site will know we're partial to the odd BMX video now and again and this one from Milwaukee rider Tim Knoll is a bit special - it's had over two million views on Youtube since Tuesday when it was posted (and when we originally meant to stick it on here, honest).

Knoll's video doesn't feature the sorts of death defying jumps and tricks (or indeed budget) we've come to expect from trials rider supreme, Danny MacAskill. Instead it's a collection of finely honed tricks and stunts that owe a lot to his origins as a flatland BMXer, although this isn't by any means pure flatland as there are obstacles involved in many of the tricks - including lorry trailers although the most impressive bit is him somersaulting off one bike and on to the pegs of another… although you might think differently.

Mental. But brilliant.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice...

When I see the likes of McCaskill and Akrigg doing their tricks, I think of them as cyclists. When I see this guy, it puts me more in mind of a circus performer.

My first cycling passion was bmx. Even now I still want one (much to my kids shame)

Great video. Mad skills.

In approach, he reminds me of the Japanese skateboarder Gou Miyagi. Absolutely just doing his own thing
