Rollapaluza comes to Mud Dock in Bristol

Roller racing with a twist comes to Bristol on November the 5th, when Rollapaluza brings its unique take on roller racing to the Mud Dock Cafe for the Iron Horse Roller Racing Night. 

The format is classic roller racing: pairs of cyclists battle it out on vintage rollers connected to a huge dial over a simulated 500m distance at speeds in excess of 50mph! It's a knockout competition (rather than a pure time trial) and the riders battle it out until there is an overall winner. The twist at Rollapaluza is that all this takes place in an atmosphere more like a night club than a cycling club. 

Rollapaluza's events are well known for their atmosphere and the crowd always goes wild they have been an established part of the cycle scene in London for the past few years. The Bristol bash is sponsored by Iron Horse who will provide two of their Transit fixed wheel bikes for racing and as the prize for the winning man and woman, there will also be spot prizes throughout the night for the most entertaining riders. and Iron Horse will have their 2009 range on show as well.

Entrance to watch the roller racing is free but if you want to race it will cost you £5 and entry is first come first served. To be sure of getting a ride you can enter in advance by popping into the Cycleworks or by calling 0117 929 2151.

Racing starts at 8pm and continues until 11pm and while you might miss the fireworks outside, there's sure to be plenty inside.
