Video: Park your bike like a pro... Tour de France champ Bradley Wiggins shows you how

Nice piece of Pinarello-tossing action as mech costs Team Sky man his chance in Giro del Trentino

It's happened to us all at some point... you've spotted the last available bike parking place, and as you're heading towards it, you notice someone else is likely to get there first. Fret no more and learn from a master as Tour de France and Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins shows you exactly how to do it - although we wouldn't recommend trying it with a top of the range Pinarello until you've mastered the technique.

Joking apart, Wiggins was venting his frustration after a mechanical cost him the chance of fighting for the win in today's final stage of the Giro del Trentino.

Overnight leader Maxime Bouet of AG2R had already been dropped when the Team Sky rider hit a problem, and it was Astana's Vincenzo Nibali who took advantage to take the stage and the overall win.

Vini Fantini-Selle Italia's Mauro Santamborgio took second both on the stage and on GC, with Bouet minimising his losses enough to get the third podium place. Wiggins finished ninth on the stage, dropping to fifth overall.

bit of a twat really, and then he rode off past the buses at the top and got in a car and went home in the cream puff avoiding everyone.

So showing a bit of a anger and disappointment is being a twat is it? These guys dedicate their life to bike racing. To winning. Why not get upset when it all falls apart during a race due to the bike?

They go through some pretty unpleasant training and they meet some pretty unpleasant people too who think they have a right to judge them because they earn money riding a bike.

Exactly. And if they don't show emotion they're accused of being racing robots who ride looking at their SRM displays.

I like to think the bike was showing him up by taking the force out of his actions by gliding smoothly over to the wall.

I'm a wiggo fan, don't get me wrong... but this is about the most impressive thing I've seen him do since the Olympics

If Nibali gets a mechanical in the Giro, expect a bit of payback!

Nothing compared to Millar windmilling his bike over the barriers. Also, it kinda takes the sting out of Bradley's rage.....

Right, let's stick to good old cable gears and rim brakes please.

Oh, I admit it, I just don't like having an out of date machine lol.

Great parking Brad but I wouldn't want to try it with my bike.

I'm pretty sure Millar did a spectacular bike hurl over the crash barriers a while back too 4

Love it, i hadn't heard much about Wiggins recently. I thought he was marooned in Tenerife but it turns out he has been practicing that.

Perfect landing by the bike though! He almost went to slam it, thought better of it and rolled it across the road.

Looked like his battery expired and it went into limp home mode-or would that be me?

I can tell he doesn't buy his own bikes.

Poor Nibali - no one cares that he won the race because Bradley goes and does this- which, to be honest, is much cooler and will be remembered much longer than actually winning.

It wasn't, he was using a regular chainring.

He seemed to be stuck in too high a gear - Eurosport reckoned it was a problem with his electronic mech - seemed about right to me...

Was that a funny shaped chainring related mechanical?

Nothing cool about a professional having a tantrum.
