When Independent Fabrication were asked by Sandy Hook Cyclery to produce a custom frame to carry the words of the Sandy Hook Promise, a non-profit organization created by members of the community of Newtown following the devastating loss of 26 lives in a shooting incident that shocked the world, they turned their spray brush on a beautiful frame.
There’s not much I feel really needs to be said, but just have a look at the photos in the gallery and take a moment to remember those who tragically lost their lives on 14 December 2012. The frame carries the trust's message and is finished with their logo, a tree made of hand prints to represent the 26 lives lost. 26 ribbons decorate the top tube, and the date is printed on the seatstay.
“It is with great love and pride that this frame passed through our hands,” IF BIkes said of producing this frame.
The Sandy Hook trusts mission is thus:
I Promise to honor the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
I Promise to do everything I can to encourage and support common sense solutions that make my community and our country safer from similar acts of violence.
