Hit and seriously injured cyclist in Horsham

Police are asking for help to find the driver of a Reliant Robin who hit and seriously injured a cyclist before driving off.

A 63-year old man was hit bt the three-wheeler on February 12 in North Street, Horsham, and the culprit has not yet been traced.

The cyclist's injuries included a broken hip, concussion, a large cut on his head and a cracked bone in his back.

Witnesses or anyone with information are asked to contact Sussex Police.

After an unpromising start, having to be bribed by her parents to learn to ride without stabilisers, Sarah became rather keener on cycling in her university years, and was eventually persuaded to upgrade to proper road cycling by the prospect of a shiny red Italian bike, which she promptly destroyed by trapping a pair of knickers in the rear derailleur. Sarah writes about about cycling every weekend on road.cc.

Can't be that many Reliant Robins left on the road, and not that many at all in the Horsham area. I do hope Sussex Police are proactively doing something about this crime.

Agree on the numbers of this type of vehicle about. The Old Bill can check for the address of every Reliant Robin in that part of the country and visit the owner. If the victim remembers the colour of the offending vehicle that narrows it down tons further. They'll locate the keeper/owner I am positive of that. What they need is witnesses to the incident to corroborate the cyclists version of events.

There is no humour in any dangerous driving. Which is why when that arse Clarkson was fooling around flipping Reliant Robins I was not in the slightest bit amused. They may only have three wheels and lawnmower engines, but they are still the wrong side of the line that separates vehicles that only willfully reckless idiots can make dangerous (e.g. bicycles), and one that can be lethal with anyone at the controls (e.g. cars.)

What is more worrying and I know someone who does this is that, as they are a 3 wheeler, they can be driven on a provisional licence. Therefore the driver may not have even passed a driving test!
