Cycling Tips February Fifteen Strava challenge
It's the Aussies versus the world - who can log the most hours next week?
Cycling Tips Feb Fifteen
Those aussies, eh? Nothing they like more than taking on the world. And Wade from the very excellent Cycling Tips has been in touch to let us know of a challenge he's running on Strava next week.
"It's called the FebFifteen," he says. "I basically want to motivate people to get on their bikes and ride 15 hours (or more) next week. To add to the competitive element, this is not just a personal challenge - but a group challenge. It will be Australia's hours versus the rest of The World. We're the only ones arrogant enough to have this concept in Cricket, so why not here?"
Obviously over in the Antipodes Summer's drawing to a close but it's still nice and light and warm, whereas here in blighty we're all still digging out our thickest overshoes and setting off in the dark. Hey ho. Anyway, you need to log 15 hours next week to get your badge, no mean feat. And Cycling Tips will be adding up all the Aussie and rest-of-the-world miles to see who gets bragging rights.
To sign up, head to the Strava challenge page. If you're tweeting about your rides, use the hastag #febfifteen. Let's sock it to the Aussies, eh?
The US has the biggest representation on Strava by quite a long way, how on earth do the Aussies think they can ride more cumulative hours?
you're underestimating just how competitive they are over there
Well stupidity got the better of me and I have signed up
and the funny thing is that Wade is actually Canadian
15 hours in this weather? Hmm...
YES, something I might be able to achieve....I'll be logging lots of hours that weekend with the Burgess Hill spring time classic sportive
spring time
Good luck with that.
Cheers, G
I put my name down and then remembered that the missus is away next weekend so I'm babysitting - that'll be 15 hours in 5 days for me then!!
I'm accessing Strava from the States and this challenge does not appear on the Challenge page, even if I use the link above.
Looks like those bloody Aussies have rigged it!!
Australia vs The World (but not all the World, actually)

Having drunk, worked and played Rugby with many Australians they have already won this as the world revolves around them does it not??
It doesn't seem like a lot until you sit down with pencil and paper to work it out and realise it comes to almost two hours a day.
