Mark Cavendish in Omega Pharma Quick Step kit

Mark Cavendish, twice a world champion in the Madison, will be taking to the boards tonight in a track competition against other members of his new team, Omega Pharma-Quick Step, including Tom Boonen and Six Day racing specialist Iljo Keisse - what's more, it will be streamed live on the team website.

The event, billed as the OPQS Championship, takes place at the Flemish Eddy Merckx cycling centre in Ghent and comes on the same evening as the team presentation, the event starting from 1955 local time - that's 1855 in the UK.The event is scheduled to finish at 11pm local time - 10pm UK time.

You can watch it here.

Thats great! Good to see a team trying new things to add a bit of positive publicity beyond the usual boring rubbish.

Good move by the team, not keen on the Belgian commentary though!

If the bicycle was invented tomorrow, it would be seen as the solution, not the problem

Poor Cav, having to listen to all that Flemish. He must have really hated Sky!
