Rollapaluza Brief Encounter comes to London

Event in Bethnal Green

After taking their brand of cycle sport all over the UK, Europe and even the Phillipines Rollapaluza return to London for a night of classic Rollapaluza competition, music and legendary atmosphere.

In association with the Bicycle Film Festival and Knog, Rollapaluza Brief Encounter takes place on Friday, September 25 at the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club, 44-46 Pollard Row.

This event marks a departure from their more usual format of head to head racing with "mixed doubles" teams to race on their recently enhanced four-up rig. Boy and girl pairings will race over 1km madison-style to challenge for places in the knockout rounds and Rollapaluza glory. Teams are encouraged to dress as classic movie couples to win prizes in the fancy dress challenge.

The Bethnal Green Working Men's Club has changed little since the glory days of roller-racing and movies, its retro decor and reputation for quirky lounge, retro rock 'n' roll and fancy-dress burlesque parties should make it an ideal setting for a night of Rollapaluza racing. There will be an indoor bike-parking room.

Cycle Accessories brand Knog once again support Rollapaluza by providing hundreds of pounds worth of top notch cycling swag.

Brief Encounter is part of the growing annual Bicycle Film Festival, which travels the globe showcasing classic and modern cycling films and between September 23-27 is in London with films showing at the Barbican and other events all over the capital.

Tickets are £8.50 and it starts from 7pm. To book tickets online visit http://www.rollapaluza.com/briefencounter
