Sir Chris Hoy to visit Cyclopark near Gravesend next Wednesday

Great Britain's most successful Olympian will be at Kent attraction to try out his new range of bikes...

Visitors to the Cyclopark near Gravesend in Kent one afternoon next week may be in for a surprise – they could find themselves riding alongside Great Britain’s most successful ever Olympian, Sir Chris Hoy.

The six-time Olympic champion – the last two of those titles came further up the Thames in London last summer in the team sprint and the keirin – will be at the Cyclopark, which opened in May last year, on Wednesday 16 January between 3pm and 4pm.

According to Cyclopark: “This is an amazing opportunity to showcase this brand new cycling facility and a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet this incredible athlete.

“Sir Chris will be test riding his own new brand of Hoy Bikes during this ride.”

The range of bikes, announced in November, will go on sale in Evans stores later this year.

Laurence Tricker, Cyclopark’s CEO, commented: “We can hardly believe that this opportunity has arisen for Sir Chris to visit to our venue.

“These opportunities don’t come along very often and we will do all we can to ensure that he is made very welcome.

“We expect there will be many people that will wish to come and meet Sir Chris and take the opportunity to ride alongside him at this brand new venue.”
