The Wildwood CX Sportive looks set to sell out this January, according to organisers, so it's time to get your entry in if you fancy a little bit of muddy New Year's fun.
The event attracted 500 riders in 2012, and The Cycle Events Organisation say it's already selling faster this year, expected to fill out its larger 600-rider capacity.
The course, in the scenic Chilterns, attracts roadies, die hard 'crossers and MTBers, so it's sure to have a laid-back inclusive feel, perfect for first-timers.
The winding course is fast-paced and varied, switching regularly from tarmac to dirt to keep you on the ball and entertained throughout.
There are 40, 60 and 80km route choices. It's a mixed terrain course that's suitable for various different bikes; great for CX and 29ers, ideal for a fast MTB or capable hybrid; even your winter road hack could tackle it, with a change of tyres.
And if you need a bit more encouragement, read our guide to cyclocross here.
For the £15-£19 entry fee, you can expect comprehensive route signage, a manned feed and support station, RFID ride timing, free TORQ energy drink and full catering at the event base.

The truth is than in the Netherlands that I saw them, they were indeed a bit huge for cycle infra. However they were rather rare.
Race you there!
Those calipers arent the prettiest. Makes them look like Post-mount.

12 corners in just over 2km is a terrifying prospect if it rains!
