Surrey County Council launches giveaway of London 2012 memorabilia

Flags, banners and bunting up for grabs - just write 100 words about why you should win some

Cycling fans are being invited by Surrey County Council to win some London 2012 memorabilia, including flags, banners and bunting (of the official type, rather than the home made versions in the picture) that lined the county's roads when it hosted the road race and time trial events.

To be in with a chance of winning, head here to put down up to 100 words explaining why you should be one of the people who should win won of the Olympic souvenirs.

Entries, which must be submitted by 11 January, will be judged by county councillor Helyn Clack, who was responsible for the county's involvement in hosting the Olympics.

Mrs Clack commented: “We made Surrey an Olympic arena for three amazing days of sport and now people have the chance to own their own piece of Games history. I’m sure there are plenty of sports clubs, community groups and residents keen to give these reminders of a glorious Games a home.”
