Eddy vinyl figure released
If you’re still searching for the perfect Christmas gift for a cyclist then the new Eddy Vinyl Figure could be it.
It’s been designed by top illustrator Richard Mitchelson, he who was responsible for the Rouleur mugs which featured portraits of Merckx, Millar, Fignon, Lemond, Simpson, Hinault and Pantani.
So which Eddy is this? Given the obvious resemblance (allowing for the fact that it's a couple of inches high moulded plastic figure) and that he's wearing a Molteni top you'd be forgiven for thinking it must be Eddy Merckx… but there's no mention of the "M" word anywhere on the accompanying publicity info or packaging. Could it be it has not been officially endorsed by Mr M?
The vinyl figure is 6in tall and comes in a presentation box. It costs £35 and is available to pre-order now.
We think it’s a cool product and are hoping to find one under our Christmas tree.
David worked on the road.cc tech team from 2012-2020. Previously he was editor of Bikemagic.com and before that staff writer at RCUK. He's a seasoned cyclist of all disciplines, from road to mountain biking, touring to cyclo-cross, he only wishes he had time to ride them all. He's mildly competitive, though he'll never admit it, and is a frequent road racer but is too lazy to do really well. I used to go that way to work. It's nasty and congested. I doubt any changes will make the congestion worse.
