Frome Cobble Wobble 2012 - Entries are open

Catherine's Hill will be the place to be on 16 December for some pre-Christmas cobbled climbing action...

Entries have opened for this year's Frome Cobble Wobble in its new pre-Christmas  incarnation on the 16th December.

This is the fourth Cobble Wobble but the first to take place in December - the upside being it'll be cooler (and going uphill can get you quite hot) and it being in the run-up to Christmas you can combine it with some pre-Christmas shopping. And the downsides? Well there's got to be a teensy chance that the 179 yard run up Catherine Hill  in December might be a bit slipper than it would be in September …and you might have to combine the experience with Christmas shopping.

The event, sponsored by The Bicycle Academy, Charge Bikes and Frome Town Council has five race categories although the Under 14s is already full… so that leaves:

14s to 17s
18s to 49s
Over 50s
Singlespeeds

Entry is a tenner. We'll be there… probably (got a bit of a party on the night before) but it doesn't start until 6pm so we'd like to think we'll have recovered sufficiently.

To get you in the mood here's some helmet cam footage from the 2010 Cobble Wobble. To find out more head over to www.cobblewobble.co.uk
