Film maker stays in NYC with his bike and video camera to document Hurricane Sandy (+ video)
Casey Neistat whose bike lane video went viral takes to two wheels to chart storm's impact
Remember Casey Neistat, the New York film maker and cyclist whose slapstick take on riding in the bike lane became a YouTube hit with nearly 6 million views to date? Well, he’s back with another video, but the subject and approach are very different.
Neistat, his brother, some friends and their bikes, plus his video camera, stayed behind in New York City this week as it was struck by Hurricane Sandy. The result is a haunting video of the usually bustling metropolis turned into an aquatic ghost town by the force of nature. He also tweeted about his experience.
Neistat’s films – you can see more of his portfolio here – often give food for thought; this one’s no exception.
