Sir Chris Hoy shows Danny MacAskill how to ride the boards (+ video)

Stunt ace swaps trials bike for track one as Glasgow 2014 brings Scotland's favourite cycling sons together...

Not every cyclist is lucky enough to be tutored by an Olympic legend the first time they ride in a velodrome. Then again, not every track rider showing someone how to ride the boards has as their pupil someone whose exploits on a bike have been viewed by millions worldwide.

But that’s the set-up in this film from the organisers of the Glasgow 2012 Commonwealth Games, who brought together Scotland’s two most famous cycling sons, Sir Chris Hoy and Danny MacAskill, at the velodrome that bears the name of the six-time Olympic champion.

We reckon it’s a nice tonic after the week the sport has had, guaranteed to put a smile on your face, and it also saves us having to ask Dave to break out the picture of the kittens. Enjoy.

First time on a track and he's only 4 and a bit seconds off what the top guys are doing. Not bad at all. Bit more training on lines and getting a good gearing......But he did seem knackered 19
