There are plenty of city dwelling cyclists who prefer to shun Lyrca in favour of regular clothes and with those people in mind Howies have released the new Cromarty zip hoody.
Continuing their push back into the cycling market, this is the latest garment from Howies that could be happily used on the bike for riding to work or down to the shops while being a stylish top for post-ride relaxing. We just think it looks really good.
It's made from 96% Italian fleece and 4% organic cotton and has a mix of elastane to give it some flexibility when you're twisting and manhandling the bike around the city streets. Fit is described as regular, there are two side pockets and the hood has a drawcord.

It's an (expensive) hoody. What makes it more suitable for cycling than any other hoody?
You can buy a hoody for £9.99 at Sports Direct, but put the word 'cycling' in front and you can sell the same hoody for £59.99.
It's like anything designed for a 'specialism'. I'm a photographer who shoots and develops film, I can buy a thermometer for when I'm mixing developer solutions for £4.99 or I can buy a darkroom/photography thermometer for £24.99.
I'm all for clothing which crosses the divide between cycling and casual, particularly merino stuff, but this just looks like an ordinary hoody. If Howies send me one to test I'll gladly be proved wrong if it turns out to have some magical cycling-specific properties.
