Giro d'Italia releases videos of 2012 race in numbers and rider reaction to 2013 route

Data show how Italian race extending global reach through social media and traditional channels

Giro d’Italia organisers RCS Sport have put together a rather snazzy video showcasing the stats surrounding this year’s edition of the race, won by Garmin-Sharp’s Ryder Hesjedal and emphasising how it is harnessing social media and traditional channels to extend the reach of the race.

They have also issued a short video given reaction from stars including Hesjedal, Mark Cavendish and Alberto Contador to the route of next year’s race, which was unveiled in Milan last month.

But then I went back. They have almost the same amount on Russia 39
