Video: London Open 2012 Bike Polo tournament highlights
82 teams from 15 countries competed in Bethnal Green

Now in its third year, this year's London Open tournament hosted 82 teams from 15 different countries, and was eventually won by one of the furthest-flung teams, named, er, Yank Your Wank, - that's Joey, Kouyo and Nick from the USA.

The event was held across three courts in Bethnal Green Gardens on August 25th and 26th.

If the video whets your appetite, head over to the London Hardcourt Bike Polo Association website to find out more.

After an unpromising start, having to be bribed by her parents to learn to ride without stabilisers, Sarah became rather keener on cycling in her university years, and was eventually persuaded to upgrade to proper road cycling by the prospect of a shiny red Italian bike, which she promptly destroyed by trapping a pair of knickers in the rear derailleur. Sarah writes about about cycling every weekend on road.cc.

They have a basketball court in my village, its never used apart from the odd 5 aside game. I think I might go try some of this, If I can keep my balance and stuff. I might see if anyone else in the area is into it. Otherwise. London is 515 miles away 19
