We have a Winner for Tour of Britain VIP hospitality… and IG Hill Climb Challenge place

VIP hospitaltiy at final stage + a place to race in the IG Markets Hill Climb Challenge courtesy of Map My Tracks

We have a winner for what has to be one of the best competitions we've ever run… Our lucky winner will get to pit himself and his bike against gravity and a very steep hill in front of cheering crowds in the IG Hill Climb Challenge before settling back with a friend to enjoy some VIP hospitality while watching the pros tackle the same hill shortly after - all courtesy of Map My Tracks. So, who did the random-number-o-meter pick?

Phil Walker is the lucky man - he's been informed and even now is ramping up his training.

Bad luck to those of you that missed out, but there will be another great roadcc competition along soon… although it won't be containing any hill climb hurt (sorry about that).

======================================================================================================

On Sunday 16th September after completing almost 150km of racing, the final stage of The Tour of Britain concludes with a dramatic scramble to the finish on Guildford’s scenic cobbled High Street. We have teamed up with the official GPS tracking supplier for the 2012 Tour of Britain, Map My Tracks, to offer you the chance to take on this climb moments before the leaders arrive, with a coveted place in the IG Hill Climb Challenge.

With only 40 riders taking part in this invitation-only event in front of capacity crowds, this is your chance to put your climbing skills to the test and see if you can make it onto the podium… and possibly throw up on Guildford High St without being arrested.

Afterwards, you’ll be able to cool off and watch The Tour’s closing moments with a guest from a prime location on the finishing straight. This VIP experience will include an exquisite buffet lunch accompanied by a selection of Adnams wines, and comes courtesy of Map My Tracks.

This really is one belter of a prize and a great day out for you and your plus one. To enter the competition, all you need to do is comment in below - usual Schwag Grab rules apply + the winner enters the Hill Climb at his/her own their own risk and Tinderhouse Ltd cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to property or individuals. We will announce the winner next Wednesday.

Map My Tracks will be tracking the peloton's progress every step of the way during The Tour of Britain, allowing fans and spectators to follow the race online or via the Map My Tracks App.

I don't suppose there's any chance of the cobbles being paved over before the race? I'll still do it if there's cobbles, it would be just nicer if it was paved. Oh, and what if the climb went downhill instead of uphill? That would also make it a bit more pleasant. And could you arrange a nice marquee over the course. I've noticed it tends to rain in this country sometimes. I'd rather not get wet if I didn't have to.
