Deloitte Ride Across Britain 2010: last chance for entries

Not much space left on 9-day event

We reported last week the launch of the Deloitte Ride Across Britain, a supported 9-day ride from John O'Groats to Land's End. There's been a lot of interest surrounding the event - it really seems to have captured the imagination of cyclists and non-cyclists alike. So much so, in fact that places are now extremely limited: If you were thinking of giving it a go, you'd better get your entry in today.

The event is essentially Land's End to John O'Groats in reverse, but with a big support team. Outriders, mechanics and medical staff will be on hand and there's a tent village going ahead of the ride to house everyone overnight. You can ride the event as a four-man relay too, which widens its appeal.

There's a pool of places being reserved for principal sponsors – our Deloitte insider tells us they're so sought after there's going to be a lottery – and public places are selling out fast. When we last phoned up the organisers they were fairly certain that the cut-off would be some time today. So don't delay.

You can enter via the website, which will take you through to a Paypal page to take a deposit. The organisers, Treshold, have reported that there's been a few problems with the system, especially with Amex cards, but they can sort payment in other ways if you get stuck.
