Collectors and cycling fanatics can bid for a good cause with this signed Team Sky jersey, featuring the scrawls of stars including Bradley Wiggins and Mark Cavendish.
The brand new jersey's on sale on eBay, and all the proceeds will go to the Canal & River Trust, the new charity that's just taken over 2,000 miles of canals and rivers from the government on behalf of the public, taking over from British Waterways.
The move is intended to open up new sources of funding for the green spaces and towpaths (like this auction), but the public purse will continue to fund the charity to the tune of about £800m over the next 15 years.
So back to the jersey; It's a men’s UK size medium in black, white and turquoise with short sleeves, two rear pockets, elasticated waist and front zip.
The top carries the team branding, has never been worn and comes with a certificate of authenticity from David Brailsford.
A spokesman for the Canal & River Trust said: "Every penny of the money raised by selling it will be used directly on work to conserve, restore, enhance and educate people about the incredible 200 year old network of inland waterways that the charity cares for."
At time of writing, the jersey had reached £390 in the bidding, with 24 bids and three days to go. Bid here.
That Norwegian infrastructure OMG.
Are you sure? Norway is socialist and has a very high quality of life.
As someone who drives a diesel, I was looking at that and thinking "that's been the normal price for ages!" 😭
Glad I got mine before that change in ownership.
And 3 of the 'workers' are just leaning!
Same sketch everywhere, or so it seems. Take Whitelegg Way in Bournemouth. Wide cycle lanes put in both sides of a (formerly very wide) two lane...
Sounds cool. I haven't taken an "unnecessary flight" since 1992. Flown many times since then for work, but you can't patrol the Iraqi desert, or...
My first thought on reading the headline was "ooh, has Clevedon put in covered bike parking now?".
I rented a car a few weeks ago, a Skoda Octavia (needed a big car for a weekend), and the ride was astonishingly good compared to my own 10 year...
Silly.
