Win £1,000 to spend at Bikelab with the Virtual Box Hill challenge!

Bike retailer offering a shopping spree for the fastest up the virtual zigzags at the Surrey Hills Road Race Festival

If you're thinking of having a go on the famous zigzags of Box Hill while you're over in Surrey watching the Olympic Road Races, then prepare yourself for a disappoinment: The National Trust have handed control of the fabled tarmac to LOCOG and they'll be closing it to anyone and everyone for the whole weekend.

All is not lost though! Head over to the Surrey Hills Road Race Festival and you can have a go on a virtual Box Hill not half a mile from the real one. And what's more, if you're quickest to the top you could win £1,000 of bikey stuff.

The chaps at Bikelab are going to be at the cycling expo at Denbies Vineyard, just off the A24 on the route towards Box Hill, and they're bringing with them a VR trainer loaded with the climb. It's free, and anyone can have a go. They'll be running a leaderboard over the Saturday and Sunday of the road races, and the person with the quickest time over the weekend will get £1,000 to spend with Bikelab.

As well as the trainer there'll be plenty of shiny bikes to see at the Bikelab stand from the likes of Storck, Scott and Cube. And there's loads of other cool stuff at the expo too, including a first chance to see Trek's 2013 bikes and new gear from Cannondale, Canyon, Merida, Whyte, Wilier and many more.

Does the virtual hill adjust resistance in accordance with the weight of the rider? or will a powerful rouleur have an advantage over a wisp of a grimpeur Thinking
