Fantasy Cycling: TDF stages 6-8

A bumper weekend roundup of the great and good of Fantasy Cycling...

Right, what with it being the weekend and the site falling over and all, we've got a bit of catching up to do on the who's-won-what front. So without further ado, let's dive in!

Stage 6: Épernay - Metz

Nobody could touch that Peter Sagan on Friday. And nobody could touch Offthatcouchfitness, who netted a very impressive 210 points with everyone in their squad except Andiry Grivko chipping in to the total. Having break-merchant Dave Zabriskie didn't hurt either. So user Offthatcouchfitness gets the stage 6 prize of an Etxeondo Gizon Jersey worth £69.

Stage 7: Tomblaine - La Planche des Belles Filles

This is where you earn your money, virtual Directeurs Sportif. Straight from a sprint to a summit; who're you going to go with?

Turns out you wanted to go with Wiggins, Evans, Froome, Taarmarae and Nibali, or at least some of them. Plenty of people opted for the big two, girasole76 had Nibali too plus Zubeldia and a four-point assist from Izagirre. 144 isn't the biggest stage score ever but hey, it was enough. So user girasole76 gets the stage 7 prize of a pair of a set of Panaracer RACE A Tyres worth £79.

Stage 8: Belfort - Porrentruy

You needed to pick Pinot. That is all. With 68 points for the break and the win, he was the difference between the top of the class and the dunce's corner, all on his own.

LABRIQUE Cycling Team had Pinot. And Wiggins, and Evans, and Gallopin. Another assist from Izagirre meant a total of 193 points and the stage win. User Pho3n1x gets the award of an ABUS Tec-Tical Pro Helmet worth £99.

Congrats to our three weekend winners! In the overall Tour de France league zueco charged into the lead on Saturday and have kept top spot on Sunday with Microdose just six points behind in second and Team Mandy a further two points adrift in third. It's still mighty close and a good stage score is enough to catapult you miles up the table; Team Gabrielle managed to jump 65 places to 16th with a score of 166 on Sunday.

cavalry trouser tips are back on top in the purist league, wrestling the top spot from whatnobeer. There's just four points in it, and a number of teams not far off the pace. Props to Tom Amos in seventh place in the purists for his team name; Meagre Farmer Otto is one of the better puns we've seen…

Today's prize for the ITT is a set of Altura Ergofit Leg Warmers + Ergofit Arm Warmers  worth £54. Good luck everyone!
