Dani King our local Olympic cyclist. Go Dani.
Elliot in the movie E.T. got to fly across the face of the moon. No one can beat that.
Three guys who did the 25 mile Essex Castle charity ride from Colchester a couple of years back . . .
. . . they were on unicycles.
Me, aged six, on my Raleigh Tomahawk, winning the best decorated bike competition at my village fete (left) in 1978.

You know what Malcolm Elliott, was, is class. I remember him at the head of affairs in the Milk Race winching the bunch up Winnat's Pass - them were the days lad!
Johnny "it's just a flesh wound" Hoogerland
Robert Millar
It's gotta be Indurain...
Robert Miller
Marco Pantani
Deb Weston for her support and patience.
Bill Childs, President of the Sunderland Clarion CC. He knows more about cycling in the north east of England than anyone else I've met, and, at 80+ years old, turns out for Sunday club runs more frequently than I do. Inspirational guy. Of the pros, then Peter Sagan is the most exciting rider to hit the peloton since...ooh... Cav. The way he won the prologue at the Tour de Suisse from under Spartacus' nose was awesome (and just plain rude). What's genuinely scary is that he's barely started yet...
Chris Froome
Fausto Coppi
Jacques Anquetil
Jens Voigt - determination, skill and humour
Jacques Anquetil.
Froome.
Mark Cavendish
Eugène Christophe, founder of cyclo-cross and whose exploits in the 1913 Tour de France and 1910 Milan-San Remo read like a high concept thriller.
Robert Millar, the reason I grew a pony tail and rode a Peugeot aged 13!! But more recently Thomas Voeckler and Jeremy Roy for attacking constantly!
Lars Ytting Bak
Jessica
Johnny Hoogerland
Eddy Merckx, who didn't quit the tour despite a broken cheekbone so the guy who won wouldn't be told he'd only won coz Eddy had quit!
Has to be Robert Millar, as the only rider from an English-speaking country to have won the Tour de France King of the Mountains title!
Mercx
gert jan theunisse. he was a real rocker and a cool guy. u never see riders like that nowadays.
Can't go wrong with a diva racer. How about Leontin Van Moorsel!
Beryl Burton. She was so dominant in her sport that she was a sort of British Eddy Merckx. She held the 12 hour record in a time that was quicker than the men's and remains the unbroken women's record to this day. You go girl!
