Has to be my riding companion, Malrees. When diagnosed with diabetes he said, buy a bike. He rode out with me everyday to help me get fit enough and gradually, without me realising it, got me fit enough for cycling holidays with kit, all in 6 months. A good friend who always made me fix my bike and smiled when i decided to ditch a car for good!

Jon Innerdale, a workmate. If he hadn't been cycling to work, I'd never have got back on a bike again. I'd never have dislocated my collarbone either but that's another story ...
Tommeke! (Tom Boonen)
Or could it be Stephen Roche, one of only two riders to have ever won the Triple Crown of cycling – the Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and world championships
