Congrats to the lucky winners and commiserations to y'all who missed out. Next week: some natty pedals!
[here's the original story]
The Schwag Grab has been away for a bit but now it's back! And this week we've got five sets of Blackburn Flea front and rear lights to offload on you lucky chancers courtesy of our pals at Madison.
If you haven't seen the Flea lights before, well they're mad clever: the lights are rechargeable and the come with a little charging unit that attaches magnetically to any standard AA battery: they work with rechargeables too.
Once they've had their fill they'll run for between 3 and 12 hours, depending on mode, before you need to top them up. And they only weigh 17g each, so even the most stringent of racing snakes should be okay with them.
The rules are as usual: just comment on this story to be in the hat. No multiple posts please. We'll draw the winner on Friday at about tiffin-time. Mmmm, tiffin.
tiffin time whilst charging this 'sweet' lights up - sounds good! B)
A ride a day keeps the frown away!
MINE! (please)
Not even in August and yes, I am already thinking it is getting darker on my evening ride! Yes please to fleas!
..and some tiffin for the runners up, or maybe the friday after. cheers.
I think this would be the only time that I would admit to having fleas
How teeny teeny wee
Is the little tiny Flea,
One would think that one so small
could do no harm at all,
But all last night
In my hotel
He made me scratch
Like merry hell.

Just the thing for winter
Tiffin with fleas ? I like the sound of that.
Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch-Itch-scratch----aaaaaaaaggggggghhhhhhhh.... FLEAS! Oh, they're lights... in that case, I'm in!
Good to see the Schwag Grab hasn't become a flash in the pan and is still charging ahead, lighting the way for others to follow ...
OOOOOO! Me Please!
'Ah just the thing for my fair maiden-one for each hand as she rides side saddle'
Bugaboo!
Days are getting shorter I guess. Might need some lights sometime soon.

Rookie rider
I'm itching to get me some of these. Hmmmmm.
They'd make nice little friends for my hipster cysts......

That finally got me registered!
That finally got me registered!
we OWN you now
That finally got me registered!
He doesn't need the lights I do (he's an mtb'er don't
you know .... Sorry Graham :-])
Roadies forever !!!!
still on the 3rd switch-back of Bwlch !
A pair of those would be just what the doctor ordered. maybe have to go to the co-op tomorrow to purchase a pack of tiffin. Should I eat them all guilt free on the train to Chester or save some for the radarlings, mrs radar and the radar-outlaws? (We're all off to the zoo tomorrow , zoo tomorrow etc Not enough room in car for all 7 of us so I've volunteered for two hours peace and quiet each way on the train - Guardian crossword, no mither and some tiffin squares. tangfastic!)
Me please.
Tiffin sounds good... but I'll settle for the lights
They look better than my very large and heavy Cateye lights. especially as my leg keeps catching on the rear bracket they're attached with.
Light at the end of the tunnel.
they would be great
The nights are drawing in, good lights are essential
Can keep going for up to 12 hours, just like me.....
you can never have too many lights, can you?
I've not seen the light!
Lights please
J
Just broke the clip on my rear light so your generosity would be well timed.

It takes a man to suffer ignorance and smile.
handy little backups.
Just what I need for the Cotic Roadrat I have on order (which I bought on the strength of the review on this very site) - luvverlee
I am geeky enough to truly appreciate these. Ta.
I want to be a flea flasher. Count me in please
Very neat design. Nice.
I wouldn't kill a flea for them lights
I go great with chips
Cool............ B)
I could really have done with these on Sunday morning at 5.30am when I was cycling home in the rain from my parents cause my husband had gone out on the piss & 'lost' his keys!!!!
Osa
I've seen the light
I'd love a set. Count me in.
I feel such a fool for having needlessly carted round batteries for so long! Please count me in.
Roadmen are too busy with their noses on the front wheel to notice what lights they are using and MTBers wouldn't notice the weight difference on their super heavy alu tanks. A Super-light-Bromptonaut would truly appreciate these little delights. Therefore they're mine! P.S Do these lights fold up?
Shine on me!
Derek
I got cautioned by the police for riding without lights once... can i have them please?
Flea lights, rechargeable ones, didn't I hear that you can re-charge things whilst riding? I'm sure that when I was a lad I had something called a dynamo, do they still exist?
kaz
Who'd have thunk I'd need lights in July, but yes, the weather is so bad I do really need these...
I really like the look of them. Please send me a set?
Those lights look good!
Great idea, but do they work with rechargeable AA batteries, seems to imply one needs to use disposable alkaline batteries? Surely this needs changing?
Anyway, nice to see someone doing something different.
My son has just (quite suddenly!) gotten into cycling and is awaiting his new Rock Lobster bike (after riding his dads Kona for a while) I think these lights would be perfect for him!
I'm older than I ever intended to be
Nice
count me in, i need something to brighten me up on those long dreary night commutes.
Wez
Blackburn Flea come to me
Welcome as a cup of tea
Light me home on dark nights
Stop me from car collision frights
Do not encumber me with weight
And get left behind by my speedy mate
due to energy cutbacks the lights at the end of the tunnel have been switched off
I can't compete with the Poetry and Humour above, so just me in please!
Oh, me too, me too.
Yes please!
Welcome back Schwag !
Just one more for the (night-time) road, hic!
I light these a lot!! B)
Flea to me for a light commute
Explore, Dream, Discover
They really look the part!
Woo, some new lights would be nice, it's nearly winter in Scotland!
Start Cycle Commuting. Write off your car!
Me please. I've got swine flu. Need cheering up.
A neat idea and no bother to carry - on or off the bike.
Slice of Pie
What a lovely pair...
Not even August.
Nights drawing in.
New lights?
Yes please.
I hope they would cure my leprosy.
I hope to be able to find out.
I would be beaming with delight and itching to get riding with a set of fleas, count me in !!
Light, bright keep me riding all night...come on.
After 15 years off the bike I am back and really want a set so I can train through the winter. Please
Cyclists do it on their bikes!!
Nice bit of kit.
may the gods of chance shine their shiny nice lights on my humble form this very afternoon come tiffin time.
*stands from kneeling*
As dedicated weight weenie fleas would help in my quest to be as light as bee or should that be flea?
as they said in Gremlins
"arrr Brightlight Brightlight"
I want some to shine in drivers rear view mirrors
my 650 lumen wolf eyes flashlight will continue to illuminate the road ....
still collecting wing mirrors
It's a rather dull Friday in my redundancy hit office and I'm paying little attention to whats going on around me when i feel a hand on my shoulder, its my boss, she says 'erm, whats this?' In my half asleep panic stricken state and hoping she takes pity on me, i reply 'I'm on a bike website leaving a post in a vain attempt to win some lights'. At least if this post goes against me in the '5 reasons why i should keep my job' sweepstakes I'll have some lovely lights to show for it.......
oh yes, yes, yes - light my way!
these are fleas I'd like to have
look nice on my bike B)
me please!
Consider this story to be commented upon by my good self, with the greatest passion.
my fleas are afraid of the dark, so these would be ace. surely it's tiffin time now?
Nice idea. Do they work?
THANK YOU!
