Video: Bike Bath recce

We ride one of the six Bike Bath routes, a 60-mile loop in the Costwolds

Nothing could be more appealing than a nice ride in the country in weather like this, eh? Luckily it's going to be blue skies and soaring temperatures all summer long*, which means that come the weekend of 22-24 June you'll be able to enjoy the countryside surrounding road.cc's home town of Bath from behind your sunnies. The Bike Bath festival features sportives on the Saturday and Sunday, and a timetable of supporting events too.

The weather wasn't quite so clement on the day we picked to ride the recce of the 60-mile Cotswold route, which loops out North of the city and takes in Wotton-Under-Edge and Tetbury as well as the picture-postcard-beautiful village of Castle Combe. We had a great time though, and the route's a cracker - lots of quiet roads and great views with a few testing climbs thrown in for good measure.

Bike Bath starts with an evening with legend Graeme Obree, author Rob Penn and Ben Rockett, current holder of the Land's End - John O'Groats - Land's End record. There's crit racing and Rollapaluza on Saturday night, pasta parties and, of course, three sportives a day. For more details head over to www.bikebath.co.uk
