Fantasy Cycling: Tour of Oman stage 5

A win for Nibali and a shuffle of the GC, but it's as you were in Fantasy land...

So, with just the final circuit stage to go in the Tour of Oman, the overall title looks like a done deal. Team Flahutes have been out in front since a high score on stage two saw them hit the front. consistent high scoring has seen their lead grow to an impressive 73 points; barring a complete disaster on the last day they'll be walking off with the overall prize.

Behind that though there's everything to play for. Team msag people have a 22-point cushion over Team Mikaela in third, but there's plenty of people in with a shot of a podium; anyone in the top ten could still make it with a good score.

On stage five's summit finish it was Vincenzo Nibali who rode away from Peter Velits to claim the stage, but Velits' higher position in the GC means he's wearing the leader's red jersey. There good points to be had for those two, as well as Tony Gallopin, who's been racking up the points for the whole of the Tour of Oman. Team The Peloton Pundit picked those three, and backed that up with scores from Rodriguez, Jeannesson, Navardauskas and Bouhanni to post a mighty 187, ahead of the Spanish contingent of team jauman (183) and team black men (178). So that's a Green Oil Eco Rider kit to user a7081543.

In the purists' league a late surge from team Champions has seen them hit the front with a stage to go, knocking team To be pure or not to be pure, that is the question down into second. But have they gone too early? There's still time to be caught...
