Some people have all the luck; we're freezing our finger tips off here and Matt Brett is in Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands at the launch of Cervelo's new time trial and triathlon frame the P5.
As you can see in the brief video, it's a sleek-looking beast in the modern style; wind buffeting gaps all filled in and no doubt lots of clever stuff to make it as adjustable as possible for all the time-trialling disciplines. And lighter, too although you'll have to wait for Mat's report which shouldn't be long.

And what are those levers marked '8TT' you're wondering? That's the new Magura RT8 TT brakes marking the return of the German hydraulic specialists to tarmac roads after quite a time away. These will still be brakes acting on the rims and this being an aero bike the callipers are mounted out of the wind beneath the chainstays and integrated into the fork crown. The advantage of hydraulics here should be that the tortuous routes rendering cables a pain to set up and actually, like, brake will be easy-peasy with fluid which of course goes around corners very happily. That's the theory, anyway. Not that it's every bike shop that will be working on the Cervelo P5 and its brakes but mechanics all over the country - the world - wil be watching the unfolding news on hydraulic brakes on road bikes with mixed feelings. One thing is for sure; hydraulic brakes on road bikes are here and for good this time.
