Introducing the road.cc Showcase

Bringing you interesting, unusual, and top quality stuff from around the cycling world

Eagle eyed types might have noticed that we've added a new bit to the road.cc shop, yes that's right we've called it the road.cc Showcase and it's where you can buy interesting, unusual top quality cycling stuff everything from bikes to belts… well, bikes and belts + the Rouler Annual.

The original idea of the showcase was to give people the chance to buy products we really like that only have limited availability in the UK, Velo-re belts certainly fits that bill made in London from retired tyres and inner tubes they really are fantastic bits of kit, every one is subtly different because they're hand made and because the wear pattern of every tyre is different. What we really like about them though is that first and foremost they work are really stylish handcrafted belts - it's only when you get up close that realise they are made from tyres and inner tubes… in fact if you weren't a cyclist you might not notice at all.

We also thought it would be great to sell unusual one-off and top quality cycling books and dvds that's why we're really pleased to be offering the new Rouleur Annual in the showcase and we will be bringing you more top stuff from our friends at Rouleur soon…

And interesting one offs? Well feast your eyes on these Cycle Premier Racing Team, er, team bikes. These are actual team bikes raced by Tony Gibb amongst others. In fact Tony's bike is a particular bargain because injury kept him of his bike for much of the season. The bikes are Moda Strettos and we've got two 58s one of which comes equipped with SRAM Red the other with Force, both have American Classics 420 Aero 3 Wheels; and we've got 54 frameset built up with everything bar the wheels ridden by Jason White.

We'll be adding new products to the Showcase it's always going to be an eclectic mix and it's only going to be stuff we really like oh, and if you've seen anything on your travels that you think should be available to more people let us know if it's good enough we'll try and put in the Showcase.

road.cc's founder and first editor, nowadays to be found riding a spreadsheet. Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.

Whether this should be a new thread, but I was wondering about suggestions for the shop.

I was thinking about bidons and casquettes next?

The t-shirts were great so how about a nice polo?

I draw the line at argyle print shorts though sorry 22
