Book now: initial Wiggle Super Series sportive in March is FREE + Video

Well, it is if you turn up; otherwise you're making a donation to NSPCC...

The No Excuses Sportive in Huntingdon on Sunday 18th March 2012 is free as long as you turn up to ride. Otherwise the £25 deposit you pay now to reserve a place will be forfeited and paid to the NSPCC. There are limited places and there will be no entries on the line. The Wiggle Super Series organisers paid £4,000 to the charity this way at last year's event.

The event is based at Hinchingbrooke House, the ancestral home of Oliver Cromwell and takes in some of the quieter lanes in the leafy countryside of Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire. There is a choice of 80 and 45 mile routes.

Martin Barden, the event organiser, says he's "brimming with excitement for the 2012 Wiggle Super Series No Excuses ride. It’s a great way to give riders an extra incentive to get out and ride – we don’t want excuses! We just want cyclists in saddles and out on the road. What could be better than kicking-off the 2012 Wiggle Super Series with a free ride?"

Wiggle’s Director of Marketing, Martin Talbot, is equally pleased to see the return of the Wiggle Super Series No Excuses Sportive. "Personally, I think that this event is absolutely brilliant because it gives us an opportunity to say thank you for such a great turn-out across the 2011 Wiggle Super Series," he says. "We would love to have anybody and everybody along but in reality we have to limit spaces, so enter soon to avoid disappointment."
