Rapha and Strava running Turkey Takeoff calorie bashing Thanksgiving promo

While the good ol' US of A tucks into a big dinner, cyclists have something to aim for this weekend...

Smartphone GPS cycling app purveyors Strava have teamed up with Rapha who are getting a lot of love in the US market presently to offer a Thanksgiving challenge called Turkey Takeoff.

It started yesterday Wednesday and runs until the end of Sunday 26th; what you need to do is download the Strava app and log enough cycling miles to burn 9,000 calories. Hit the target and they'll post you an exclusive embroidered Turkey Takeoff badge.

We don't want to worry you but as of this moment Guillermo Bartolome Husson from Spain has already chalked up 7,250 calories in two rides so we're guessing the weather down in the Iberian Peninsula is pretty good. We're not bitter.

Which only remains for road.cc to wish all our USA readers a great Thanksgiving holiday and hope that you do indeed manage to get out on your bikes in lovely weather just like Guillermo's and not ours here in the UK. For a website aimed at the British market and considering how many great US cycling sites there are we are chuffed how many of you read road.cc. Thanks and ride safe.

I did accept it no problems, downloaded the .gpx from Endo and uploaded to Strava, but as i never used Strava before even having it installed on my phone for months, i'll stick to Endo

I doubt Strava will accept you using their main competitor..

Personally I prefer Strava.. It looks nice, and its the underdog. 15
