Help out at the Tour of Britain

Cycling event seeks volunteers

Organisers of the Tour of Britain have put out a call for volunteers to help at this year's event.

The 2009 tour will be the sixth running of the race, which continues to grow from strength to strength, attracting millions of spectators to the roadside and via the daily highlights programmes on ITV4.

If you would like to be a part of the excitement register as a volunteer on the ToB's new website www.tourofbritain.co.uk. Make sure you're available between September 12 and 19 though, and that you can get to your particular stage of the route.

When you go to the ToB's homepage, click on the blue box on the bottom left hand side - and you will be directed to the registration page. You need to be over 18.

Everyone who registers and turns up on the day will be entered into a competition to win exclusive entry into hospitality for next year's 2010 ToB stage in London and there will be daily prize draws to win an official Tour of Britain race jersey.

The Tour of Britain begins in North Lincolnshire at Scunthorpe on September 12 finishing eight days later in the centre of London on September 19.
