Danny MacAskill shows his mettle as he takes his tricks to disused iron works (+ video)

Latest video forms part of Channel 4's Concrete Circus programme...

Street trials ace Danny MacAskill is back with a new video, shot as part of the Concrete Circus programme shown on Channel 4 yesterday evening which showcased urban sport such as parkour, also known as free running.

The Scot shot to fame in 2009 with a YouTube video shot in Edinburgh by his friend Dave Sowerby, which has now gained more than 24 million views.

The resulting publicity and queue of sponsors allowed MacAskill to give up his job as a bike mechanic to concentrate full-time on his bike stunts, including shooting an ad for Volkswagen and a music video for the band 'Doves'.

The latest video, called Industrial Revolutions, was shot in MacAskill’s native Scotland in a disused iron works and railway sidings.

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.

Don't forget Keelan Phillips! Top flatlander in the UK, and personally speaking, the best edit (though Danny's edit is a very close second...) SO good to see 'minority' sports getting some serious airtime!

I'm very sad and watching it for the trains. I do hope he has had his tetinus jabs with all that rusty iron work.

Watching it again (after concrete circus last night) is no less impressive, perhaps even the opposite. Particularly like the flat work and the hops-to backwards rolling-endo.

Fabulous.

Agree with OldRidgeback about the show at GoodWood, seriously impressive stuff.

I reckon I might *just* be able to recreate the big skid at the beginning of this vid. That's about it though.

He must have rubber bones in his legs. I saw him at the Goodwood Festival of Speed last month, impressive to say the least. his riding has developed with more stylish moves than he had in his early videos.
