Lance Armstrong answers Twitter critic over road.cc link

Texan shoots back after barbed tweet

Silence, wrote George Bernard Shaw, is the most perfect expression of scorn.

Lance Armstrong, however, as we all know, just can’t resist a comeback. But when a previously unknown tweeter with (at the time) just two followers and a dozen or so tweets to his name linked to our item about Lance’s Twitter Ride with the pithy observation “i see this asshole was in scotland” Lance just might conceivably have let it slide.

But no. The Texan, presumably killing time at Inverness airport, tweeted back: "@Bike_Terrorist don't worry, he's flying out in a minute.”

This was the cue for the newbie tweeter, (who, before his sig. became slightly more warm and fuzzy in the last couple of hours, appeared to be intent on exposing “knobhead cyclists” and “benders” or threatening to “fuck you up” if you jump a red light in Hammersmith), to attempt to do what much of the world’s cycling media not to mention the forces of the US federal government and its ace investigator Jeff Novitzky have sought for some time.

“just come clean mate. We will all respect you so much more for it,” was the Bike_Terrorist’s chummy, yet heartfelt plea to the seven-time Tour winner.

This came after he, or possibly she, had vented their spleen about what they apparently perceive to be a terrible betrayal by their former hero: “i got into cycling because of YOU, i believed in you. You cheated. Unacceptable” they had tweeted.

Lance might be in the air at this time so we wait with bated breath for his tweeted reaction when he touches down. Stand by Mr Novitzky.

it's embarrasing that you have to go shouting about your opinion 'cos when a non cycling twitter user sees your comments they think were all a load of opinion shouters which is gonna totally put off new people.

not as embarrassing or damaging to the sport as all the revelations* of doping, bribery, bullying and cheating that emanating from Armstrong.

*revelations that are true according his defensive ducking and diving, testimonials from ex team mates etc....there is a mountain of dung attached to his career and it sure stinks

You got a point. Anything more than say 10 miles would be a ball ache. Do people use road.cc to find others?

No i haven't used road.cc to find others, but you do make a good point, maybe Dave could look a listing members in regional area's so we as users to simply click on a contact button and see if anyone wants to go for a ride sometime

Just to show my problem i would have if i wanted to join a club i have made this http://img580.imageshack.us/img580/8294/clubs.jpg

As i dont have a car or access to one i could only use public transport with the black line showing the only bus route which runs a bus every hour during the day and every couple of hours later on at night, then you see my problem 2

That's a mission! Getting on a bus or in a car to go on a ride defeats the point of it all anyway. There is an app for iPhones I think where you can do a meet up thing.

Are you getting confused with Grindr?

Why doesn`t jeremy Kyle invite lance on to his programme for a lie detector test and see what response all the allegations against him show on the machine.
