After the success of the inaugural Rollapaluza Urban Hill Climb last year, the second edition has been announced for July 21.

The event will take place just hours after the world’s best take on one of the toughest Tour de France stages in recent history, with three mammoth climbs culminating in the highest ever finish of a Tour stage on the Col du Galibier.

London's Swains Lane in Highgate may not have quite the same ring to it but there’ll be plenty of eyeballs-out, gut-busting effort on what will be a closed road for the steep, 900 metre climb that bisects Highgate Cemetery.

At last year's inaugural event hundreds lined the climb to cheer on a full field of Pro, club, novice and youth riders, despite the heavy rain.

Expect to witness the same great atmosphere in 2011 and once again entry is free. Rollapaluza are opening entries at noon this Thursday and a link to the entry page is posted on the Urban Hill Climb website.

Arse. I'm gonna be in Wales. Sad

Guess I could do a few reps up the ol' Swain on the way home later. Looking out the window, it could well be just like last year.
