Kuota-road.cc kit: get it while it's hot

You too can cut a dash in our team clothing

You know that we’re joint sponsors of a pro road team, right? Kuota-road.cc – that’s us. And now you can get your hands on the highly attractive and extremely comfortable team kit for yourself.

We didn’t think we should do a normal review of the clothing. It’s got our own road.cc logos splashed all over it, after all. Impartiality and all that. Plus, we thought that you cynical bunch wouldn’t believe what we said anyway, so we’ve decided to give you a guided tour instead…

All of the kit is handmade in Italy by GSG – it’s high-quality stuff – through DHW Agencies, the UK Kuota importers who do a whole range of custom clothing.

Bibshorts

The bibshorts are great. They’re made from Lycra Power fabric and all those panels are flat-stitched so you get a comfortable fit without any ridges. The mesh upper holds everything in place without making you overheat while silicone grippers stop the legs riding up.

The La Fonte seatpad is the highpoint. You get 14mm-deep foam to absorb shock underneath your pelvic bones and less depth down the centre to take the pressure off your perineum. It’s really stretchy in all directions so it stays with you as you move, it’s antibacterial, and the Coolmax/Lycra surface fabric works hard to keep you sweat-free. Highly impressive.

Short Sleeve Jersey

The short sleeve jersey comes in a typical racy cut – slim, with a slightly extended back. It’s made from a lightweight Airdry polyester which has a teabag weave for plenty of ventilation, and it shifts sweat away from your skin really well when you crank up the effort. Plus, that front zip is full length so you can open it up completely on the big climbs for maximum air conditioning. We do love a full-length zip.

You get the regulation three pockets in the lower back for your pump, spare tube and so on, and a silicone gripper around the hem that does a great job of holding it in place. Oh, and the side panels are flat stitched too, for a little extra comfort.

Price £44.99

Long Sleeve Jersey

We’ve been using the long sleeve jersey tons since the temperature has started to drop and it has quickly become a favourite. Again, it’s polyester, but this time in a Termophile fabric which is a medium weight with a soft, brushed inner surface that adds a lot of warmth. It’s ideal for wearing over the top of a short sleeve jersey in autumn/spring, or you could put it on top of another long sleeve layer or two when the colder weather really kicks in.

As with the short sleeve jersey, you get three pockets around the back, a full-length front zip and a silicone hem gripper.

Price £55.99

The build quality is excellent on all of the products – we’ve had no problems at all with poorly done seams, dodgy zips or anything like that. And you can bung it all in the washing machine at 30°C.

If you want to be one of the kool kidz, get along to www.dhwagencies.com and sort yourself out with your own set of Kuota-road.cc clothing.
