Sounds and vision (nice slide show) of Chris Hoy taking Radio 4 business presenter Adrian Shaw and the chairman of Citigroup Sir Wyn Bishchoff around the Manchester Velodrome. Bischoff is a big fan of what British Cycling have acheived and wanted to see if there were any lessons the business world could learn… well, BC went for a more sustainable long-term strategy so stayed away from the mortgage backed securitiies and other complex financial derivatives and instead decided to corner the market in gold… Sir Chris doesn't tell him.
This was on the Today programme a few weeks back, but we missed it (thanks to biketweets for reminding us).

Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.

No concept of choice about how to get about. At least we didn't get 'micromanaging people' to walk and cycle as I have read elsewhere. As if only...
How would some of these people cope if they visited Paris or a random Dutch town.
At least one of my local Aldis has a nice stainless bike rack, but it can't be seen from inside the shop.
Annnnnnnd the twitter account is gone. I am guessing there were some awkward conversations in the Froome household this morning....
I hope not.
An end of season used pro bike for £1500 is affordable, just choose the rider carefully.
