This year's Vuelta looks set to be a fiercely fought affair. There's no Contador but Saxo Bank are bringing both Schlecks and Cancellara to the Spanish streets, and Denis Menchov will be leading the Rabobank charge. The team line-up is very similar to the Tour, with only Radioshack and BMC missing out in favour of the homegrown Andalucia-CajaSur and Xacobeo-Galicia squads, so there's bound to be some scores to be settled along the way.
Game-wise we've done a bit of tinkering behind the scenes and listened to your comments on the Tour game. There's a few changes, and the most important ones to know about are...
New transfer system
We've redesigned the transfer system so you don't have to make your changes one at a time, and you can see all the riders without scrolling through a big drop-down menu. We've also included extra transfers on rest days: you can make up to four swaps on a rest day
Changing rider values
The rider values will change during the course of the game based on how many people have picked them and how many points they've scored. So if your domestique gamble pays off you'll have a bit more cash to spend if you transfer him out, and it won't be quite as easy to get those dark horses into your squad...
If one of your riders pulls out then you'll still score points for the other riders so long as you've had a full squad at some point. Riders who leave the race (or won't be starting) will be greyed out, you can transfer another rider in for free as soon as we've marked them as out of the race.
There's a couple of rule and scoring changes too to take into account the slightly different structure of the race, but mostly it's the same gig and you need to be in it to win it, so get yourself registered and get picking!
