Another Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme iPhone app

New app offers a choice to Apple-friendly users of the London scheme

A new iPhone app for the Barclay’s Cycle Hire scheme is available, enabling Apple-friendly cyclists to find cycle docking stations and plan routes.

Makers of the London Cycle App have also promised users of iPhones, iPods and iPads the ability to check bike numbers on each docking station when Transport for London release the data.

The new app is free to download and offers the following features:

  • Shows cycle stations across London
  • Displays cycle capacity at each station
  • Shows cycle stations closest to you
  • Shows cycle stations near specified locations
  • Provides cycle routes from point A to B
  • Includes helpful cycling and road safety tips

Find out more on the London Cycle app website.

The new app gives iPhone/Pod/Pad users a choice – back in March we reported on the similar Cycle Hire app, although that one still isn’t available to download.
