A group of cyclists are now three weeks into The Great Tour, a 6,600 kilometre cycling challenge around the coastline of Britain.
The Great Tour set off from Seaton on 3 July, and will eventually return to the Devon town on 4 September, nine weeks later. There are between ten and 13 core riders doing most or all of the route and riders from sponsoring organisations join them for parts of the ride.
The ride is raising money for Caravan (The Grocery Industry’s Benevolent Fund) and is supported by the whole grocery industry.
From Blyth this Monday morning, The Great Tour headed anti-clockwise into Scotland and through Edinburgh, St Andrews and Stonehaven before finishing week three in Fraserburgh tomorrow afternoon (Friday 23 July).
During week two riders cycled almost 750 kilometres from Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex to Scarborough in Yorkshire, climbing over 4,400 metres in the process.
Passing through the heart of seaside communities like Cromer, Skegness and Hornsea, The Great Tour has been helping to celebrate the diversity of the British coast, from the traditional seaside resorts like Bridlington to fishing towns like Grimsby.
If you want to get a closer look at the route of The Great Tour, then you can win a set of OS Explorer maps covering the coastline of Great Britain thanks to Official Mapping Partner Ordnance Survey.
To be in with a chance of winning please go to the Ordnance Survey site and complete the entry form. Entry closes on 4 September.
There are several ways of keeping tabs on The Great Tour's progress - by reading the blog or through Twitter. You can also see video highlights of The Great Tour on YouTube.
