Big Blue Bike courier service launched in Cardiff

New bicycle courier business offers to carry loads of up to 100kg

A new bicycle courier business has been launched in Cardiff. Big Blue Bike offers to carry items up to 100kg in weight across the city using a specially designed cargo bicycle.

Big Blue Bike is the brainchild of Ben Allen (26) from Roath, who had the idea after he spotted large loads being carried by bike on a trip to Denmark.

Ben will be the sole rider to start with – on a WorkCycles FR8 – but is hoping the business will expand quickly so he can employ others and buy some Larry vs Harry bikes. He’s hoping his service will appeal to businesses looking to save money and beat Cardiff traffic disruption.

Ben said, “With petrol prices soaring and traffic on our city streets at a standstill it makes sense to switch to a zero emission and congestion easing delivery method.”
