Track bikes worth thousands stolen in Staffordshire

11 bikes taken

Several thousand pounds’ worth of track bikes have been stolen from Newcastle Track Cycling Association following a break-in. The bikes were taken from a facility situated within Newcastle Town Football Club at Lyme Valley Park in the early hours of Tuesday June 28.

Police say that offenders forced entry to the building and took nine black and silver Giant Omnium track bikes, one orange and red Fondriest track bike and a carbon fibre Argon track bike.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 85 of June 28 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their Anonymous Online Form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.

Writing on Facebook, Newcastle Track added that all the Giant Omnium bikes taken are numbered on the top tube and seat tube. They describe the bikes as being ‘essential’ for beginners and novice riders.

Alex has written for more cricket publications than the rest of the road.cc team combined. Despite the apparent evidence of this picture, he doesn't especially like cake.

Nice, checking eBay. Would make a nice ornament hung on the living room wall.
